St. Louis Tame Magazine: Cutest Puppy Photo Winner 2011

Who couldn’t love a face like this?! Every year, Missouri premiere pet magazine, Tame, hosts a sweetness face-off! Readers submit photos of their pups in hopes of clenching the title of Tame Magazine’s Cutest Puppy. Last year’s winning K-9 was this adorable guy. His owner submitted his photo that won round after round of voting via Facebook and email. The people have spoken; all hail the cuteness!

Rico

If you haven’t heard of the Phoenix Pack (formerly Mutts-n-Stuff) yet, you should take five minutes to check out their website. They are a phenomenal non-profit organization in St. Louis rehabilitating and rescuing pit bulls in the area. I’ve been lucky enough to work with them on advertising, branding, and documentary photo series over the course of seven years! Very rewarding.

This particular session was with the aptly rescue nicknamed Resilient Rico. For a brief history, you can read about his arrival to Phoenix Pack here. When I came to photograph him, we ran around the shelter and had a grand time… just like old friends. After having gone through so many hardships in his life, the strong-willed and tough Rico was an angel. Enjoy some shots from our afternoon together.

Jason Dakis

While on assignment to photograph Jason and his cute little K-9, I snagged a family shot with the rest of the pack. They were a totally fun bunch of people (and pups!) Thanks Jason and wife Kirsten for a lovely afternoon!

Naders Family

The Naders canine pack is comprised of three adorably matured rescue pups. I had the honor of photographing this happy bunch after they won a photo session through Stray Rescue St. Louis‘s silent auction. Included in the prize was a printed book of their session. So here are some tearsheets from that publication!
